The Government are making moves towards controlling photography and filming in public places.

Some pretty sketchy double-standards involved. They're trying to make it so you have to have an I.D. card and/or permits to film or photograph certain things in public space, yet there's nothing stopping them using closed circuit cameras to photograph us, oyster cards to monitor our movements and I.D. cards to keep us down.

Not cool.

If this bothers you at all, head over to - http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/ - and sign the petition.

DON'T LET THEM HOLD US DOWN!

JUNK CULTURE............

"Last week's gangland execution of 15-year-old Billy Cox sparked a frenzy of interpretation
which tried to explain the child's cold blooded murder. David Cameron inveighed against absent
fathers, blaming them for youth crime as they have failed to give there sons decent role models.

But that idea suggests boys are murderous by nature, and require corrective parenting in order to
become otherwise. The mere absence of a father does not automatically result in gangsterism and
bloodshed. Poor white people also have a high rate of single-parent households, yet gun crime is not
endemic among them as in black communities.

Young black people are enticed into antisocial behaviour by a popular culture that fetishises the most vulgar,
ignorant, bandit elements of their community, holding them aloft as the epitome of blackness. Watch any
music channel and you will see how black youth is portrayed as violent, promiscuous, coarse and stupid.

This moronic pantomime is the mainstream concept of what it is to be authentically black, and many black
kids flush there lives down the toilet emulating a lifestyle that will get them nowhere. "Keeping it real" is a racist
blueprint for keeping them firmly in their place.

The brilliant African-American critic Stanley Crouch correctly indentifies gangsta-rappers as post-modern
minstrels who undermine and insult the black community. Making millions from popular entertainment, they
exert a powerful negative infuence on black youth.

At school, I knew intelligent black kids who failed because they bought into the apathy, resentment and
delinquency that defined them in popular culture. One friend of mine was a west African whose parents
were respectable folk with high hopes for him. But in his teens, to fit in with his peers, he started speaking
a Caribbean patois he'd never spoken before and acting like he was too cool for school. Studious black kids
would be accused of "acting white" for wanting to pass exams and do well.

The main consumers of this junk culture are white. No rapper makes his fortune selling records solely to black
people. Cosseted in the suburbs, white kids long for a life of rebellious, animalistic abandon. This fantasy is
catered to by the pernicious mythology that surrounds young black people.

It is time for black kids to see through the garbage that is peddled to them. Today, rather than believing in
education, many think the authentic career for them is in sport or music - ie industries devoted to entertaining
white people. Someone needs to show them how fraudulent it actually is to make a point of "keeping it real""

my brain hurts..winners dont do drugs

when it's good it's good........

Yes yes.

So this is how it works, you make some music, you write some words that fit, you put them together and hope that it's not shit. Then you put the tracks up online cos it's now the future and people don't have to touch something to hear it. And people hear it and they say stuff like, "That's alright man" and "I like that one best". And it feels good.

Then you sort out actually performing the tracks in 'real life' and real time for real people outside in real venues to see how it goes and what it feels like. Friends come and support even though they've heard the tracks 17 million times now and although they do like them it's more about seeing mates do their thing and a good reason to hook up. That feels good too.

The shows go well. That means that some people move while the music plays and faces in the crowd give knowing nods at particular points in a track they like and clapping occurs between, during and after tracks. It feels good.

So you come off stage sweaty and feeling like it's your birthday for about 5 minutes, and on the way back to your mates you pass through people. Some of these people feel to stop you and say, "well done" or "that's was heavy mate" and it feels good.

By the time you get back to your mates and what's left of your guinness it feels like what just happened might not have actually happened. Maybe you saw it on TV or heard about it at a bus stop. There's a feeling in your stomach that you just did something and enjoyed it but can't remember what it was exactly. So you finish your guinness and you give heterosexual hugs to everyone who made the effort to come down and you leave. On you walk home you pass dealers, leansters, hookers, a couple of thugs and plenty of goth revellers. You smile to yourself about how its funny that everyone has a flex and there's loads of different ones to choose from and that you're pleased that for whatever reason it was you chose yours. And when you get home your girl is asleep and your little boy looks like he fell asleep skydiving, spreadeagled face down in his cot and you smile as you go to the shower to wash off the pub smell and by the time you quietly slip into bed everything feels like you've been here all night and the whole world is one room.

Session and The Bear played 'Remedy' at Oh! Bar Camden on the 1st of Feb with 6 piece live band. And it felt good.
