I've been partaking in a little of one of my favourite past times, looking at old magazines. (Yes I am very familiar with the argument that fashion is too fast moving for printed media, but stop hating and embrace). Anyway the pile of magazines next to my bed has over taken being a table and now resembles a column, so I thought it time to finally delve in to this world I have ignored for so long.

The chromey grey cover of Italian Vogue has been taunting me for a while now. While everyone's been talking about American Vogue's September issue (after the namesake film) I think they've been missing a trick because it's all about Italian Vogue's September Issue!

The cover and story is shot by Steven Klein and shows sexy dominatrix Rihanna staring knowingly in Valentino Couture. I think it might be my favourite fashion shoot of the year, and I really rate her for stepping out the of the generic R&B mould.

I could go on for ages explaining why I love each image, but I think you boys may like them for another reason. Happy Christmas!

I am soooooo looking forward to seeing Where The Wild Things Are. The classic children's story has been reworked by film and music mogul Spike Jonze and the result is meant to be really enchanting.

Where the Wild Things Are, out December 11th.

Jonze has also designed a capsule collection for uber cool US label Opening Ceremony, the furry creations are inspired by the film's characters and the pieces range from the wearable to the wonderful!

Meanwhile I've been ogling these Neighbourhood x Disney figurines. Mickey and Big Bad Wolf have been given a sinister makeover and I love it!

It's childhood cheer without the cringe factor.

With an amazing line up of great musicians playing all over the East End, the Brick Lane Music Festival returns once more to astound and astonish music lovers with the variety of bands, the quality of the performances and the general atmosphere of brilliance that pervades the Vibe Bar, All Star Lanes, Cafe 1001, the Big Chill Bar and beyond for one Sunday in September.

Brick Lane venues
With a number of local venues joining together to create a musical extravaganza, the Brick Lane Music Festival brings to the East End a plethora of great acts all willing and able to make your Sunday rock. With the likes of Benny Page at the Big Chill Bar, Mr Dex and Sirius at Cafe 1001 and DJ sets and free bowling at All Star Lanes, you can be sure that the day will contain more musical brilliance than you can shake a stick at.

Festival highlights
The Vibe Bar plays host to some brilliant live acts over the course of the day, including DJ Vadim featuring Yarah Bravo, DJ Session, A. Human, Latin Dub and the Hackney Colliery Band. As well as Benny Page, Big Chill gives you such gems as Ashley Beedle, Dom Servini and A Skillz, whilst All Star Lanes brings you a fantastic selection of DJs.

DJ ZINC is undoubtedly a legend in the UK music scene. With a career as a DJ and producer, throughout the genres of Jungle, House and Garage, his 1995 anthem ‘Super Sharp Shooter’ still has a devastating effect on the dance floor and not to mention the classic ‘138 Trek’ tune from 2000 that he's currently mixed down to ‘128 Trek’. In the last few years DJ Zinc has been playing only house sets, but for this special occasion he will be dusting off the dub-plates and spinning a rare 'back to '94' Jungle set especially for the Deviation family. On our bespoke sound system this is a rare opportunity you don't want to miss.

Renowned as both as a producer and a DJ in the UK garage scene, ZED BIAS also releases material under the pseudonym Maddslinky and has musical taste that spreads far and wide. Known best for his huge single ‘Neighbourhood’ from '99, it has seen several remixes for an 09 re-release by Roska, Chimpo and MJ Cole that will soon be released on 12”. Working on remixes for the likes of Gabrielle, Kosheen, Maxim, Pharoahe Monch and the Streets, he’s also been releasing under his own label Sidestepper Recordings. Ready to spin a few new exclusives, Zed has mainly been dusting off the special dubs from back in the day for a rare old school set that will be undoubtedly be re-wind overload.
